CALL-TO-ACTION FHA loan limits to be reduced by more than $75,000 Click to send your message to Congress. GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS The Government Affairs department works on behalf of the more than 10,500 REALTORS® of SEVRAR to ensure an environment exists in local government that promotes home ownership and allows real estate professionals to conduct business free from onerous rules, regulations and ordinances. We work in three arenas: Policy, Politics and Public Affairs Policy: We work with local elected officials and their staffs to promote good public policy protecting the way our members do business. Our role with local government also provides the first line of defense from potentially harmful legislation. Politics: We work to identify and support political candidates who understand and support REALTOR® priorities. Support comes from the REALTORS® of Arizona Political Action Committee, or RAPAC. Public Affairs: We work to heighten the presence of REALTORS®, and our priorities, by designing and implementing effective grassroots campaigns throughout our community. The Government Affairs department also acts as SEVRAR’s primary liaison with the Arizona Association of REALTORS® (AAR) and the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) with regard to state and federal legislative and political action. INVEST IN YOUR BOTTOM LINE... Invest in RAPAC! The REALTORS® of Arizona Political Action Committee, or RAPAC, is the sharpest tool REALTORS® have for protecting themselves from onerous local, state and federal legislation. Need an example of how strong RAPAC can be? Look no further than the passage of the REALTOR®-proposed constitutional amendment banning transfer taxes at the state, county and local levels. It passed, in large part, because of the overwhelming strength of RAPAC. However, RAPAC is only as strong as you make it. Its success in safeguarding your livelihood is directly linked to your level of investment.
